GoHighLevel Pricing: Every Plan in Plain Numbers

Most pages about gohighlevel pricing give you three numbers and a buy button. That is not the whole bill. The plan price is the floor, and the usage charges on top are where people get surprised at the end of month one. Here is every tier, what each one is actually for, what the metered costs look like, and the free route you should take first.

One note before the numbers. HighLevel changes its packaging from time to time. The figures below are the published plan prices at the time of writing. Open their pricing page and confirm before you put a card in.

GoHighLevel pricing plans explained: the three tiers

HighLevel sells one product at three levels. The software is the same. What changes is how many client accounts you can run and whether you can put your own brand and your own price tag on it.

Starter, $97 per month

This is the one for a single business, or a freelancer running two or three. You get up to three sub-accounts. A sub-account is one business: its own contacts, calendars, funnels, pipelines and automations.

Everything operational is in here. CRM and pipelines, funnel and website builder, calendars and booking, forms and surveys, two-way SMS and email, workflow automation, review requests, a mobile app, memberships and courses. If you are a plumber, a coach, a clinic or a one-person agency, this tier does the job. You do not need to go higher to get the features.

What you do not get: unlimited sub-accounts, white labelling the platform under your own domain, or reselling it.

Unlimited, $297 per month

Same software, no cap on sub-accounts. You also get white label options, including a branded desktop app on your own domain, and API access.

The decision point is simple. At four clients or more, you are forced here. Three heavy clients on Starter is fine. Four light ones is not. There is no middle plan, so the jump is $200.

Pro / SaaS Pro, $497 per month

This tier exists for one reason: reselling the software as your own product. SaaS mode lets you create your own plans, charge your own monthly price through Stripe, and rebill clients for their SMS, calls, email and AI usage at a markup you set. You also get advanced API access and extra agency-level reporting.

If you are not reselling, this is $200 a month for features you will never open. Stay on Unlimited until a client is literally paying you a software subscription.

Annual billing

HighLevel offers annual payment at a discount, typically structured as paying for ten months and getting twelve. Do not take it in month one. Run monthly until you have a full billing cycle of real usage data, then switch if you are staying.

The gohighlevel cost nobody puts in the headline

The subscription covers the software. Anything that sends a message, rings a phone or runs an AI model is metered separately and billed to a prepaid wallet on your account. You top the wallet up, auto-recharge keeps it full, and usage draws it down.

Phone numbers, SMS and calls

HighLevel resells Twilio through its LeadConnector layer. You rent a number for roughly a dollar or two a month in the US. Outbound SMS costs around a cent per segment, inbound is cheaper, and voice minutes are charged per minute in fractions of a cent to a couple of cents.

The word that matters is segment. One SMS segment is 160 characters. Drop in an emoji or a special character and the whole message switches encoding, which cuts the segment to 70 characters. A chatty 300-character reminder with an emoji is five segments, not one. Multiply that by a few thousand contacts and the real gohighlevel cost stops being the $97.

US and Canadian SMS also needs A2P 10DLC registration. There is a one-off brand registration fee and a small recurring campaign fee, both passed through from the carriers. Budget for it and register on day one, because unregistered traffic gets filtered.

Email

Email is sent through the built-in LeadConnector service, priced per send at a fraction of a cent. Think in the region of a dollar or so per thousand emails. That is cheap compared to most email platforms that charge by list size, and it is one of the genuine reasons people move. You can also connect your own Mailgun account instead and pay Mailgun directly.

If you are planning serious volume, the deliverability work matters more than the price. Warm the domain, authenticate it, and keep the list clean. We cover the sending setup in our email and SMS marketing work.

AI features and premium actions

Conversation AI, Content AI, Voice AI and the AI Employee add-ons are all metered on top of the plan, charged per message, per generation or as a monthly bundle. Some workflow steps are flagged as premium actions and carry a tiny per-execution charge too. None of it is expensive per unit. All of it adds up quietly if you leave a bot answering every inbound message.

How to keep the wallet honest

Set auto-recharge to a small amount, not a large one. A $20 top-up that triggers often tells you something is wrong fast. A $200 top-up hides a broken loop for weeks. Check the billing and usage tab in the agency view every Monday for the first month.

The free way to start, before you pay

Do not buy a platform to find out if you need a platform. Two free steps come first.

Step one: the 14 day trial, used properly

HighLevel gives a 14 day free trial on the Starter and Unlimited plans. Card required, cancel before it ends and you pay nothing. Most people waste it clicking around. Do this instead.

  1. Day 1: import your real contact list. Not a test list.
  2. Day 2: build one pipeline with your actual sales stages and drag five live deals into it.
  3. Day 3: connect your calendar and book one real appointment through it.
  4. Day 4 to 7: build one automation that you currently do by hand. New lead comes in, text goes out in two minutes, email follows at hour one, task created if nobody replies in a day.
  5. Day 8 to 13: run your business out of it. No fallback to the old tools.
  6. Day 14: decide.

If you cannot run those six steps in two weeks, the problem is not the software and a paid plan will not fix it.

Step two: the $0 stack that covers most of it

If you are under roughly 50 leads a month, you can run the whole operation for nothing. Real free tiers, not trials.

  • CRM: HubSpot free. Unlimited users, pipelines, deal tracking, and a very large contact limit. Free forever.
  • Funnels and pages: Systeme.io free plan covers a handful of funnels and a few thousand contacts with email sending included. Carrd is a few dollars a year if you want something simpler.
  • Email: Brevo’s free tier allows a few hundred sends a day, which is plenty for a small list.
  • Booking: Cal.com free, or Calendly free for one event type.
  • Forms: Google Forms or Tally.
  • Automation glue: Make’s free plan or Zapier’s free plan. Both cap monthly operations, and both are enough to connect three or four tools.

Free tier limits move, so check each one before you build on it. The full list we actually recommend sits on our cheap tech stack page, and the system for running leads through it is in the free Cheap Marketing Playbook.

The honest trade-off: that stack is five logins and a pile of connections you maintain. HighLevel is one login. Once you are sending SMS, chasing reviews, and running more than two or three automations, the single login genuinely wins. Below that, it does not.

Is GoHighLevel worth it? Run the break-even

Forget opinions. Add up what you pay now.

For a single business

A page builder, an email platform, a scheduler, a review tool and an automation connector will usually land somewhere between $100 and $250 a month once your list grows. If that is you, $97 is a cut, not a cost. If you are paying $0 because you are on free tiers and sending 200 emails a month, $97 is a $97 loss.

For an agency

Unlimited at $297 across four clients is roughly $74 per client per month in software. Charge $500 a month per client for managed marketing and the platform is noise in the P&L. The real cost is the two to four weeks you will spend learning it and building your first snapshot. Price that time in.

When it is not worth it

Skip it if you sell physical products through Shopify, if your sales happen entirely in person with no follow-up sequence, or if one tool you already pay for does 90 percent of the job well. Switching costs are real. Migrating a working funnel to save $40 is a bad trade.

If you want a second opinion on the numbers before you commit, take the free audit and we will look at what you are already paying for.

Three ways to cut the bill

First, use email for anything that is not time-sensitive. Email is cents per thousand. SMS is cents per message. Reminders go by SMS, newsletters go by email.

Second, write SMS under 160 characters with no emoji and no special characters. That alone can halve a messaging bill.

Third, do not stack HighLevel on top of tools it replaces. People buy it, then keep paying for Calendly, ActiveCampaign and ClickFunnels for another six months out of habit. Cancel them the week your migration is done. That is the single biggest saving in this entire article, and it costs nothing to do. If the migration is the part holding you up, that is what our sales funnel builds are for.

FAQ

How much does GoHighLevel cost per month?

The published plans are $97 a month for Starter with up to three sub-accounts, $297 a month for Unlimited sub-accounts and white labelling, and $497 a month for the SaaS reseller tier. Usage for SMS, calls, email and AI is billed separately on top from a prepaid wallet. Confirm current prices on HighLevel’s own pricing page before buying.

Does GoHighLevel have a free plan or free trial?

There is no permanent free plan. There is a 14 day free trial that requires a card and can be cancelled before it charges. If you want a genuinely free setup, run HubSpot free for CRM, Systeme.io or Brevo for pages and email, and Cal.com for booking until your volume justifies paying.

What are the hidden costs in GoHighLevel pricing?

Phone number rental, per-segment SMS, per-minute call charges, per-send email, A2P 10DLC registration fees in the US and Canada, AI feature usage, and premium workflow actions. None are large individually. Together they can add anywhere from a few dollars to several hundred a month depending on how much you send.

Is GoHighLevel worth it for a single small business?

Yes if you already spend over roughly $100 a month on separate funnel, email, booking and automation tools, or if you need SMS follow-up and review requests. No if you are running on free tiers with a small list and few leads, because you would be buying capacity you cannot fill yet.

Which GoHighLevel plan should an agency pick?

Start on Starter at $97 while you have three clients or fewer. Move to Unlimited at $297 the moment you sign a fourth. Only go to the $497 SaaS tier when a client is ready to pay you a monthly software subscription and you want to rebill their usage at a markup.
